Giardiasis
Giardiasis is a bowel infection caused by the parasite Giardia lamblia (also known as Giardia intestinatis).
It is spread through consuming food or water contaminated with faeces from an infected person or swimming in contaminated recreational water.
Children are infected more frequently than adults.

Exclusion periods for schools and daycares
There is a minimum period of exclusion from school, pre-school or childcare for children or educators with this infectious disease.
