NT Allied Health Excellence Awards
The NT Allied Health Excellence Awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding contribution of allied health professionals, allied health assistants and technicians across the Northern Territory (NT).
They acknowledge individuals who demonstrate excellence in their profession and make a positive difference to the health and wellbeing of Territorians.
Finalists and winners will be recognised at the award ceremony on 16 October 2026 at the George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens.
Eligibility
Nominations can be submitted by health professionals, peers, colleagues, managers and employers.
Patients and clients cannot nominate directly. However, you are encouraged to share positive feedback with a health professional’s manager or colleagues to support a nomination.
How to nominate
The awards are open to allied health staff, technicians and teams working in any health care environment and with any organisation in the NT.
This includes those working in:
- a hospital
- primary health care
- rural and remote
- aged care
- academia
- education
- research
- management.
Nominations close on Sunday 26 July 2026.

Award categories
There are 9 award categories that recognise excellence in allied health across the NT.
The categories celebrate achievements in:
- client care
- community health
- research and education
- leadership
- team performance
- commitment to the allied health profession.
Early Career Excellence
The Early Career Excellence Award applies to recent allied health graduates.
The winner of this category:
- will be a high performer in their role
- will be highly valued by their colleagues and patients
- show considerable potential for their future career.
Nominate for the Early Career Excellence Award.
Excellence in Clinical Practice
The Excellence in Clinical Practice Award applies to nominees who deliver outstanding services or significantly influence clinical practice.
The winner of this category, will:
- be an outstanding performer in clinical practice
- be highly valued by their colleagues and patients
- considerably contribute to their profession and/or patient outcomes.
Nominate for the Excellence in Clinical Practice Award.
Excellence in Research or Quality Improvement
The Excellence in Research or Quality Improvement Award applies to nominees who deliver exemplary and impactful contributions to allied health related research or continuous quality improvement.
The winner of this category, will:
- have demonstrated significant impact from their work
- have a dedication to improving health outcomes and/or service delivery through generating new knowledge
- be highly valued in their field and considerably contribute to their profession.
Nominate for the Excellence in Research or Quality Improvement Award.
Excellence in Allied Health Education
The Excellence in Allied Health Education Award applies to nominees who demonstrate excellence in allied health education, supervision, mentoring or professional development.
The winner of this category, will:
- make a significant contribution to developing the allied health workforce
- be highly valued by learners and colleagues
- demonstrate a sustained and positive impact on developing others and strengthening allied health practice in the NT.
Nominate for the Excellence in Allied Health Education Award.
Excellence in Leadership
The Excellence in Leadership Award applies to nominees who work in any setting and deliver exemplary leadership for allied health in the NT.
The winner of this category, will:
- have significantly influenced those around them in a positive and impactful way
- be highly valued by their colleagues and profession.
Nominate for the Excellence in Leadership Award.
Team Excellence
The Team Excellence Award applies to nominees who work as a collective team, deliver high performing allied health services or outcomes in any setting.
The winner of this category will deliver excellent outcomes for person centred care and/or their profession which has been achieved through excellent teamwork.
Nominate for the Team Excellence Award.
Excellence in Community Practice
The Excellence in Community Practice Award applies to nominees who deliver outstanding services or significantly influence community health, including in rural or remote practice.
The winner of this category, will:
- be an outstanding performer in community practice
- be highly valued by their colleagues and patients/communities
- considerably contribute to their profession and/or patient outcomes.
Nominate for the Excellence in Community Practice Award.
Excellence in Allied Health Assistance/Technical Support
The Excellence in Allied Health Assistance/Technical Support Award applies to nominees who work in a technical role which directly supports allied health professionals.
The winner of this category will provide high quality and highly valued assistant services for allied health professionals and the services which they provide.
Nominate for the Excellence in Allied Health Assistance/Technical Support Award.
Allied Health Honour Roll
The Allied Health Honour Roll applies to nominees who are recognised for dedicating a substantial time of their career to working in the NT.
The winner/s of this category are highly regarded by their team, service and/or profession. Their work will have had a momentous and long-standing impact on allied health in the NT.
