There are various awards available to allied health professionals working in NT Health.

NT Allied Health Excellence Awards

Nominations are now open until 10 October 2023.

  • The Administrator's Medal in Primary Health Care recognises and reward outstanding primary health care professionals who have contributed significantly to the provision of primary health care in the Northern Territory.
  • PHN Health Professional of the Year Award recognise health professionals who share our commitment and values and who are striving to customise their service and engage their patients and peers to improve health and wellbeing in the NT. An Allied Health Practitioner award category is available and applicants must be nominated in relation to their contribution to primary health care.
  • NT Disability Services & Inclusion Awards set out to promote the value of a career in the disability workforce and to celebrate the positive contributions of the Northern Territory community in creating opportunities for people with disability. Various award categories are available and include leadership, engagement, advocacy and innovation.
  • Flinders NT Supervisor Recognition Awards acknowledge the outstanding contribution made for student supervision. Multiple categories are available and nominees can be, but do not need to have been, the primary supervisor.
  • The HESTA awards provides national recognition of the achievements for allied health professionals that continue to deliver quality care to communities across Australia.
  • The IAHA National Indigenous Allied Health Awards provides national recognition of the achievements for allied health professionals that continue to deliver quality care to communities across Australia.
  • The SARRAH SQUAWK awards recognise SARRAH members working in rural and remote areas for making an outstanding contribution across various award categories which positively impact rural and remote health.

Allied Health Professions Day

  • Allied Health Professionals Day was established in the UK in 2018 with the aim of bringing together allied health professionals to celebrate the work they do and to raise the profile of allied health as a collective group highlighting the important role they play in the health and social care settings. NT Health participate in celebrating Allied Health Professionals Day with a new theme and hashtags released each year. Look out on the NT Health Facebook page for stories and events.
