Talking Culture – a community-based ear and hearing health education initiative

Published

Did you know that most ear infections in little ones start with a snotty nose? But don't worry, we've got an awesome resource that's tackling this issue head-on and promoting a healthier future for our kids!

Introducing Khiani and Jennifer, our incredible Community Hearing Educators, and Tanya, the Speech Pathologist extraordinaire. They are the driving force behind the Talking Culture resource, a community-based ear and hearing health education initiative targeting children aged 0-5. The resource also provides families great strategies and ideas to encourage early speech and language development in our little ones.

These amazing educators visit young parents and their adorable bubs, diving into exciting topics like ear anatomy, infections, and healthy eating. They use culturally appropriate cartoon scenes that make the learning experience engaging and fun for everyone!

But that's not all! Our educators also host fabulous healthy days, where they team up with oral health experts, dieticians, and other health professionals. The resources are loved by Khiani and Jennifer, who genuinely adore their job and the positive impact they're making.

And here's the best part: the kids absolutely love the cartoon scenes, even after looking at them multiple times! They keep building on their knowledge and even become ambassadors, spreading the word about the importance of blowing their noses to avoid those pesky sore ears!

Join us in celebrating the power of this culturally appropriate resource and the incredible team behind it. Let's ensure our children grow up healthy, happy, and ready to conquer the world!
