Pre-travel advice

Make sure you have:

  • A supply of face masks, hand sanitiser and rapid antigen tests (RAT). RATs must be kept at a suitable temperature (fridge).
  • Packed your own supply of paracetamol, ibuprofen and a thermometer.
  • Updated your COVID-19 and flu vaccinations, and have evidence of these on your phone and a paper copy as back up.
  • Details to organise a telehealth appointment with your normal GP if required. For example, a phone number.
  • Packed enough medication for an additional two weeks, allowing for any isolation and recovery.
  • Advice from your GP about whether you are eligible for antiviral treatment for flu or COVID-19 if you become positive and how to get it. Eligibility will be based on your underlying health risk - for example, age or chronic disease.
  • Information about what your travel insurance covers if you cannot follow the plan you expected.
  • Phone numbers of travel or accommodation providers in case you need to reschedule other parts of your travel, paper copies of your itinerary or flights.
