Pre-travel advice
Make sure you have:
- A supply of face masks, hand sanitiser and rapid antigen tests (RAT). RATs must be kept at a suitable temperature (fridge).
- Your own supply of paracetamol, ibuprofen and a thermometer.
- Updated your COVID-19 and flu vaccinations.
- Details to organise a telehealth appointment with your normal GP if required. For example, a phone number.
- Enough medication for an additional two weeks, allowing for any time spent recovering before travelling home to limit spread of infection.
- Advice from your GP about whether you are eligible for antiviral treatment for flu or COVID-19 if you become positive and how to get it. Eligibility will be based on your underlying health risk - for example, age or chronic disease.
- Information about what your travel insurance covers if you cannot follow the plan you expected.
- Phone numbers of travel or accommodation providers in case you need to reschedule other parts of your travel, paper copies of your itinerary or flights.
