Drinking water in Bulla

The drinking water in Bulla comes from a blend of bore water and river water.

Bore water can have lots of natural minerals in it from rocks including barium.

Power and Water have measured the barium levels in Bulla's tap water, and it is higher than the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.

They test the water in all communities.

Read about drinking water in the NT on the Northern Territory Government website.

Who can drink the water

Power and Water are giving free bottled water to all community members, houses and schools to drink.

Anyone can safely use the tap water to:

  • brush teeth
  • wash dishes
  • cook
