NDIS Grants for Innovative Projects

Applications are now open for the $2 million National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Innovation Grant Project.

The Office of Disability has secured the funding from the Australian Government, Sector Development Fund to help support the transition to the NDIS across the Territory.

The $2 million Innovation Grant Project is designed to support local providers, increase local jobs, promote local-decision making and help to reshape the disability market in the NT.

Innovation Grants of up to $25,000, $50,000 and $100,000 are available for innovative projects aimed at providing new solutions, identifying and testing opportunities and increasing the level of choice and control for NDIS participants, especially people living in remote areas of the NT.

The Innovation Grants are also targeted at local providers that can deliver culturally safe services that will increase local jobs and promote Aboriginal economic participation.

The Innovation Grants provide one-off funding to establish projects that provide innovative strategies that have the potential to improve the level of choice for NDIS participants and deliver more tailored and targeted supports through the NDIS.

Supported proposals may result in ‘pop-up’ models for service delivery and repurposing assets in the local community to support the needs of NDIS participants.

Innovation Grant Projects must provide evidence that the proposed project is innovative, sustainable and more than business as usual.

Applications for the first round of the Innovation Grants close Friday, 20 October 2017.
