Ministerial advisory council
The Ministerial Advisory Council on Disability Reform provides strategic advice to the Minister for Disability on issues facing Territorians with disability, their carers and families.
The council has a particular focus on advising government on the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in the Northern Territory (NT).
The council will assist government to progress NDIS reforms and provide advice on issues related to access and the delivery of disability services with the following NT stakeholders:
- people with disability
- family and carers
- non-government organisations
- community groups
- local government and mainstream services.
Members of the Ministerial Advisory Council represent people with disability, family and carers, disability service providers, community organisations and peak bodies from across the Territory.
Members are appointed by the Minister for a term of two years and are chosen for their broad range of knowledge and experience.
