Introduction

These pages have information for medical officers about working in Northern Territory (NT) hospitals.

There are five hospitals in the NT, including two major teaching hospitals in Darwin and Alice Springs.

NT hospitals provide a range of services often not seen in similar sized hospitals due to the wide range of medical conditions, cross-cultural blend of patients, and combination of rural and remote locations.

There is a strong focus on medical education and training, and employment packages can include specific training programs and rotations.
