Cannabis - The Facts
Smoking cannabis can be detrimental to your health. In small quantities it can have immediate effects on your perception, appetite and coordination. In larger quantities, perception is at greater risk of being distorted and some people even experience hallucinations. The long term effects can consist of respiratory illness, reduced motivation, reduced brain function, hormone imbalance and a reduced immune system. According to the 2007 National Drug Household Survey 33% of Australian households reported to have used cannabis at some time. 52% of 20-29 year olds reported ever using the drug.
