Media coverage of mental health a focus of Darwin conference

Local media is welcome to cover the media and mental health panel session, 3.30 pm to 4.30pm on Thursday 8 September.

A panel of experts in the fields of mental health and the media will discuss the reporting of mental health issues at the upcoming 15th Chronic Diseases Network Annual Conference in Darwin.

Panel members will include representatives from Mindframe, a national initiative on reporting mental health issues, and BeyondBlue, and keynote speaker Fay Jackson, Director of Vision in Mind.

This year's conference is themed, Chronic Diseases- Mental Health, 'Out of the shadows into the spotlight', and will be held on Thursday 8 and Friday 9 September at the Darwin Convention Centre. The media-related panel discussion is scheduled for 3.30pm to 4.30pm on the first day, and will be open to local media who may wish to cover it.

The Chronic Diseases Network has confirmed a line-up of important keynote speakers for the conference to bring extensive and diverse experiences from scientific, consumer and community advocacy backgrounds.
