National Cerebral Palsy Awareness Week (CP Week)

Cerebral Palsy Awareness Week (CP Week), when Australians are invited to become involved to raise awareness of and celebrate people with cerebral palsy (CP), a physical condition affecting movement. National Cerebral Palsy Awareness Week (CP Week) is celebrated annually to recognise the achievements of people with cerebral palsy and to create greater awareness, understanding and acceptance. The important message for our community is to focus on seeing people with cerebral palsy firstly just as people, and to work together to achieve full social inclusion. This year’s CP Week aims to showcase the dreams and achievements of people with CP. Children, teenagers and adults who dare to say with confidence: “I want to be…,” “I am …”. The week allows family, friends, carers and the wider community to celebrate potential and create possibilities.
